Professor Philip Dixon was a lecturer in medieval archaeology in many universities including University of Nottingham, Durham University and Christchurch, Canterbury. Since 1981, Philip has been the consultant archaeologist at a range of cathedrals including Southwell Minster, Ely, Lincoln, Selby Abbey and Leicester. He has been the director of many excavations including Southwell’s from 1991 to present today.
