Southwell Library is one of Nottinghamshire County Council’s libraries and has a wide range of books for loan (fiction, non-fiction and large print), computers with free internet access and email and CD Roms and a range of information services and software.

Southwell library plays host to many events, including regular jazz nights in partnership with Jazz Steps, The Bramley Apple Festival Painting Competition and WI Pie competition.
The library holds many events in partnership with Southwell Town Council and Village Ventures, including award winning plays and music nights. It hosts regular author evenings, and in partnership with The Bookcase, a themed month in November with top name authors.
The Southwell Library Poetry Festival every July is the highlight in the library’s calendar with world famous and award winning poets performing.
