Snake in the Grass
18/05/2023 - 20/05/2023
£10‘Snake in the Grass’. Southwell Library Thursday 18th May until Saturday 20th May.
A new season, a new production, and Southwell Theatre Club’s spring play is to be Sir Alan Ayckbourn’s ‘Snake in the Grass’. The story revolves around two sisters; one, Annabel, returning from abroad, who is the beneficiary of their abusive father’s will, and Miriam, who has stayed at home to care for him. Hurling a dollop of intrigue into the pot is Alice, his former nurse, who throws accusations like confetti into the air. ‘Snake in the Grass’ is not in Ayckbourn’s normal style but he deftly brings his comedic lightness of touch to an otherwise challenging story in which ghosts and spectres of the past return. But are the ghosts all from the past?
‘Snake in the Grass’ directed by Richard O’Malia, will run from Thursday 18th until Saturday 20th May, at Southwell Library, King Street, Southwell. The show starts at 7:30pm, door and bar open at 7pm. Tickets £10 each, available now from Southwell Library or online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/southwelltheatreclub.
